AAHARA is founded and run by Umesh Sharma, based in Hisar, Haryana. This page traces how AAHARA went from an idea to a certified, patent-pending product.
Umesh Sharma, Founder ā in his own words.
AAHARA began with a simple observation: traditional clay-pot cooking ā slow, gentle, and even ā produces a taste that modern electric appliances rarely match. The question was whether that same slow, even heat could be recreated electrically, without an open flame and without anyone needing to watch it for hours.
Early development focused on one specific engineering problem: heating a clay pot isn't difficult ā heating it evenly, without cracking it through thermal shock, is. Solving that problem shaped the two mechanisms at the core of every AAHARA unit: an insulated heating chamber and cyclic heating control.
On 28 August 2025, AAHARA filed Indian Patent Application No. 202511081755 for "Thermal Clay-Based Slow Cooking Apparatus with Dual Cyclic Heating Modes." The application was published on 17 April 2026 and is currently patent-pending.
AAHARA's electric base earned Bureau of Indian Standards certification under IS 302 (Part 1):2024, India's safety standard for household electrical appliances (License No. CM/L-9100279114).
AAHARA was showcased at a Ministry of Power / Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) event, and at Hyatt Regency Delhi ā early public recognition for the category AAHARA was creating: electric clay-based slow cooking.
AAHARA launched as India's first patent-pending electric clay-based slow cooking device, available at aaharaindia.com.
"Aahara" (ą¤ą¤¹ą¤¾ą¤°) is a Hindi and Sanskrit word for food or nourishment ā reflecting the brand's focus on the way food is cooked, not just the appliance that cooks it.
This page covers AAHARA's verified milestones. If you'd like to add more personal detail ā what first got you interested in clay-pot cooking, specific moments from early prototyping, exact dates ā just share it and this page can be updated to include it.
